I just watched this one last night and it was an enjoyable ninety-plus minutes. LAKE HOUSE reunites Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves, who were so much fun in Speed. Bullock plays a workaholic doctor living in 2006, while Reeves is an architect trying to decide what he wants to do with his life two years earlier. Through the intervention of a 'magic mailbox' the two begin to correspond, and eventually fall in love.



Throughout the course of the film Keanu slowly starts to interact with Sandra's earlier self, until he finally catches up with her in 2006. Fans of time paradox films like the BACK TO THE FUTURE series will likely enjoy this love story. Its not nearly as twisted up as the Christopher Reeve/Jane Seymour outing SOMEWHERE IN TIME, but has some similar elements. Was it perfect ? No... But it might make for a good date night film combining some sci-fi elements for the guys and an enjoyable romance for the ladies.



For the record, the end left me wondering if they had tested the film one way and ended up with a different ending. That said, Bullock and Reeves manage to pull off an intriguing and fun flick one more time.
