From Norma Valborg: A few drops of poison contaminates an entire bowl of soup. It did to my impression of "The Jane Austen Book Club" movie. My guess is that producers and writers of this movie are enjoying smugness at having attracted Jane Austen fans, expecting to find her level of morality throughout the story, when the underlying agenda was to ram homosexuality repeatedly down the throats of unsuspecting fans. This abnormal human behavior did not appear in Jane Austen novels.
While the actors portrayed their characters well, and the clever plot utilized each of Jane Austen's six novels in influencing their lives for the better, sordid immorality blanketed and ruined the movie for me.
